Business Banking in the UK

Well it seems like a slow job getting this new business bank account & I'm not totally sure that the HBOS people know what they are talking about. But it seems like I'm getting a UK account with a US Dollar account attached to it.

The UK banks just don't seem like they are prepared for us UK based affiliates earning all our cash from Google, Clickbank etc.

The HBOS people are not filling me with confidence so I think a bit of parallel running is called for & I will keep my HSBC account open for a while & test HBOS with my next dollar cheque.

They have also given mixed messages with regards to clearence times for USD cheques with quotes of 6 weeks & 4 days. With 3 days quoted for cheques raised by NY based companies.

I'll report back the actual performance when everything is up & running & I've had a chance to test it all.

Business Banking in the UK

I'm about to move my bank account.

Because I am in the UK I experience a lot of cost & delay with US Dollar cheques.
I currently bank with HSBC who charge £10 ($19) to cash a USD cheque upto £500 & £20 for cheques over £500. That's per cheque so with 2 Click Bank cheques each month & an Adsense cheque along with occasional other payments it drives me crazy having to give all this cash away.

So I've been doing my research & it looks like the Halifax have a business account through RBS which charges £5 to bank upto 5 cheques as long as they are deposited at the same time.

So I'm booked in to see the local branch manager on Tuesday.

If you're in the same situation, with charges, you might want to consider the Halifax or if you have a better deal in the UK let me know quick!
